1306 N. Berkley Ave. | Peoria IL

University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria, Department of Surgery, Susan G. Komen Memorial, and OSF HealthCare would like to invite you to an evening with

Judy Kneece, RN, OCN

author of seven published books, including Breast Cancer Treatment Handbook, and President of EduCare, a breast health navigation and education company.

Judy was working as an acute care oncology nurse when she first observed the multitude of challenges faced by breast cancer patients.  In 1991, inspired by courage and spirit of these patients, and her personal experience with a family member battling breast cancer, Judy made the decision to devote her life to changing the way healthcare is provided to breast cancer patients.

She designed and implemented the first comprehensive Breast Health Navigator program located in a hospital.  In 1994, she opened EduCare to train other Breast Health Navigators and has since trained over 2,300 Nurse Navigators in a 40-hour navigator training to work in hospitals and breast centers.  Judy has authored over 40 national journal articles and has served as a contributing editor to major magazines including Redbook, Marie Claire, Self, Good Housekeeping, Women’s Day and others. She currently serves on the American College of Surgeons’ National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) on the Education Committee.

In 2014, the National Consortium of Breast Centers presented Judy with the “Inspiration Award” for her development of breast health navigation.
